Peter Green Haulage Ltd began in the 1960s, based at the major railway junction of Evercreech in Somerset. Peter Green's father and grandfather were also both involved in road haulage, either side of the wartime nationalisation of road freight.
The 1960s also saw the beginning of company's close ties with the dairy industry, regularly carrying local Farmhouse Cheddar to markets and retailers around the country - including a small London convenience-store called J Sainsbury!
The company is still under family ownership, and has now been transformed into a modern 3rd party logistics business with a national profile and links across Europe.
The customer base has also expanded from dairy into drinks, meat, ready-meals, ingredients, confectionary and many others.
